A now seminal painting for me, a turning point in my style, media, scale and lifestyle. My first longer term trip involving dnr and blm land to stay for free with the goal of completing large scale paintings. The was the first time testing the spray paint with acrylic paint, a style and media choice I’d dabbled in a decade ago when I was much younger. Combined with my developed plein air painting style, this first location we stayed and painted at seemed aligned and somewhat destined.
