Painted in the technique of Pleinair, this piece was created completely on location over the course of one or many days.

Painted at Little mountain this is still one of my favorite paintings for so many reasons. This is an alternative trail entrance to the park that is less crowded and has steeper trails for mountain biking. I hiked around a mile or two, wearing a 30ish lb backpack and this slightly larger painting, im sure I was very tiered and worn out and I saw this tree with the log cutting across on the bottom and I just knew. I could see what was going to happen, the shadows trailing off across the ground and detailed plants onto the larger tree upfront and tapastry behind that glowed as the day went on.

This was one of those times where it was ment to be, I captured the sence of lighting playfully and accuratly which can be difficult working pleinair, it felt more like I was working with nature then trying to capture it on the surface. The best part is after this painting, I returned with a much largert 2x4 foot painting and did a sclaed up version that tunred out awesome looking
