Rankin Creek 2

This video focuses on the creation of this large-scale plein air painting, capturing much of the process over multiple painting sessions. Created at a now-inaccessible location off Mosquito Lake Road near Deming, Washington, the site sat near the foothills of Mount Baker and offered direct access to pristine streams, towering old-growth forest, and a level of solitude that made it an exceptional place to paint. Although this location is no longer accessible, the painting preserves the atmosphere and character of a remarkable corner of the Cascade Mountains.
