Steelhead Creek

From my summer trip painting at Steelhead Creek, a tributary that flows into Bacon Creek, then the Skagit River, and finally empties into Puget Sound. Located just east of Marblemount, this DNR recreation area is a popular destination, yet it offers more than enough pullouts to remain a reliable place to camp or work.

This tucked-away series of waterfalls is less a single stream and more a network of cascading waterways, with countless channels weaving through a moss-covered landscape of rock, ferns, and towering trees.
